St Stephen’s Hospital welcomed its new General Manager to the Fraser Coast in July 2014.
Deb Boyd, who moved to the region from Wellington, New Zealand, comes with significant management experience in managing private hospitals.
Mrs Boyd also has a strong clinical management background and high level stakeholder relationship and business development skills.
“I am looking forward to using my experience to lead my team and continue to provide high quality patient care to the Fraser Coast community,” Mrs Boyd said.
“In my previous position as General Manager for Southern Cross Private Hospital in Wellington, New Zealand, I worked closely to develop relationships with local doctors and was able to significantly improve the hospital’s culture,” Mrs Boyd said.
Mrs Boyd steps into the role at a significant time, with the hospital preparing to transition its acute inpatient services to Hervey Bay. The $96 million project is due for completion in August and will be ready to admit its first patients on the 13th October 2014.
“I am excited about leading the transition of our services to Hervey Bay and building on the strong foundation of quality care and service that already exists,” Mrs Boyd said.
“The construction of the new hospital is very exciting and I am delighted to be involved in the development of the innovative practices that will occur there. I am also supportive of the community projects that are currently underway, and I, together with my team, are looking forward to seeing them come to fruition."
“The new facility will have a significant impact on improving health care services in this region and I am committed to working with the community to make this happen,” she said.
