UnitingCare Health Learning and Change Manager Patricia Liebke has won the prestigious Don Walker Award for Best Industry/Clinical Case Study at the 2015 Health Informatics Conference (HIC) held in Brisbane on 4 August.
Ms Liebke’s case study detailed the benefits of integrating clinical devices with electronic medical records at St Stephen’s Hospital.
“I feel incredibly privileged to win the award as there were more than 200 abstracts submitted for the HIC by leading clinicians and academics throughout Australia,” Ms Liebke said
Having worked at UnitingCare Health since 2001, Ms Liebke has held many roles including graduate nurse at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital, Surgical Educator at The Wesley Hospital, and currently as Learning and Change Manager for Clinical Informatics and Applications.
Ms Liebke said the best part of her role was being able to share what she has learned with others.
“I have loved being part of St Stephen’s Hospital’s journey to achieving a HIMSS Stage 6 and I am incredibly passionate about improving patient safety and providing exceptional clinical care,” she said.
