The Fraser Coast’s St Stephen’s Hospital has been awarded one of the world’s most highly respected accolades, the HIMSS – Elsevier Digital Healthcare Award for ‘Outstanding ICT Achievement’. The award was presented at a ceremony held as part of the HIMSS Asia-Pacific conference in Singapore recently.
To receive this award places St Stephen's Hospital among a select group of world class healthcare facilities to successfully deploy a high level of health IT to significantly improve quality of care and patient safety.
Dr Peter Edelstein, Chief Medical Officer for Elsevier Clinical Solutions spoke to UnitingCare Health’s Executive Director, Richard Royle, Connie Harmsen, Connie Cross and Dr Monica Trujillo about the ‘ground-breaking’ project, culminating in St Stephen’s Hospital becoming not only Australia’s first hospital to be designated HIMSS Analytics Stage 6, but also the first fully integrated digital hospital in Australia.
