The Wesley Emergency Centre has been voted the top ranking large private hospital emergency department by an independent patient satisfaction survey.
The Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction survey found that The Wesley Hospital’s Emergency Centre has the highest rate of patient satisfaction for emergency services in private hospitals with up to 28,000 patients.
More than 6000 patients from 67 public and private hospitals across Australia and New Zealand were involved in the 2016 Press Ganey patient satisfaction surveys.
The Wesley Emergency Centre outranked its peers for having short wait times, informed delays, and caring staff who helped the patients understand their health issue. The Wesley’s doctors also scored high, topping the list for friendliness, concern for patients’ comfort, and thoroughness of care.
Wesley Emergency Centre Director Sean Rothwell said the results reflected the hospital’s dedication to providing first class treatment for patients.
“We are committed to providing quality and timely care for all our patients.” Dr Rothwell said.
“Our emergency care has one of the lowest waiting times in Australia and is staffed by highly experienced doctors and nurses.
“As part of the UnitingCare Health group of hospitals, we instill values such as compassion and respect in our staff to ensure we provide a patient-centred service. It’s great to see that this is reflected in the experience of our patients.”
The Wesley Emergency Centre is the largest private Emergency Department in Brisbane with 19 emergency beds including resuscitation, consultation, paediatric and procedure rooms.
