Dr Jason Conn MBBS, FRACP, FRCPA
Dr Jason Conn is a clinical and laboratory haematologist practicing at Coastal Cancer Care with the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital, and also holds a staff specialist position at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. He has a broad range of experience in managing patients with both malignant and non-malignant haematologic disorders, including lymphoma, myeloma, leukaemia, and thrombosis/haemostasis.
Dr Conn completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree with James Cook University in 2013. Haematology and laboratory specialist training was undertaken within the tertiary teaching institutions of the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. Through these centres, Dr Conn was able to gain valuable experience with clinical trials and translational research; he has published peer-reviewed articles in several prominent cancer journals, both as lead author and in close collaboration with interstate and international researchers. He also maintains a strong teaching and mentorship focus via his affiliation with Griffith University’s School of Medicine as a Senior Lecturer.
Dr Conn is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA). He is also a member of several leading cancer trial and research groups including the Australasian Leukaemia & Lymphoma Group (ALLG), American Society of Haematology (ASH) and Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand (HSANZ). Dr Conn is also currently completing further post-graduate study through the University of Newcastle to become a Master of Clinical Epidemiology – this will improve access to clinical trials for haematology patients living outside of Metro Brisbane.
