Dr Peter Elepfandt FANZCA, PhD [DE], State Exam [DE], AMC
Dr Elepfandt studied medicine at the Charité, Medical School of the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany. After his internship he came to Australia and did the majority of his anaesthetic specialist training in Australia. In 2014 he moved to Hervey Bay and currently is working at St Stephen’s and the public hospital.
He is the supervisor of training for the anaesthetic trainees at the public hospital and an associate lecturer for the University of Queensland. His other interest lays in quality and safety in anaesthesia and he is an instructor for the Effective Management of Anaesthetic Crisis (EMAC) course in Brisbane, which trains Anaesthetists to deal effectively with anaesthetic crises.
Dr Elepfandt said: "I am lucky to have completed my anaesthetic specialist training in Australia to the high standards of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. These high standards make Australia one of the safest countries to have an anaesthetic.”
