Dr Thomas Eshun-Wilson MBChB (SA) FCOphth (SA) FRANZCO
Dr Thomas Eshun-Wilson graduated in 1993 and finished specialising in 2003. After informal fellowships in cataract (Netcare) and refractive surgery( Boots) in the UK, Dr Wilson came to Perth, Australia, in 2006. He relocated to Hervey Bay in 2007, working for Vision Group. Thence he branched out on his own in June 2010 to open the Wilson Eye Centre in Hervey Bay & Bundaberg.
Over the past 20 years, Dr Wilson's surgical practice has focused on complex cataract surgery, including the use of multifocal IOLs, such that in 2023 he had performed more than 17,000 cases. He also has a keen interest in glaucoma surgery, both minimally invasive surgery (MIGS with the Hydrus implant) and major surgery (trabeculectomy with the preserflo microshunt). His medical ophthalmic practice is heavily focused of AMD and diabetic retinopathy management with a busy intravitreal injection service (Eyelea & Lucentis).
