Dr Peter Hansen
Dr Hansen’s comprehensive experience encompasses all facets of modern vascular practice from minimally-invasive endovascular techniques for the management of arterial, venous and aneurysmal disease to open surgery for all vascular conditions. He has a special interest in minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins, endovascular treatment of peripheral vascular disease, endoluminal stent graft repair of aortic aneurysms and access surgery (fistula) for dialysis access.
Dr Hansen can offer all treatment options for patients with varicose veins, claudication (pain when walking) due to peripheral vascular disease, diabetic foot disease, arterial aneurysms, and more.
Dr Hansen was born in Gladstone. After completing his university education at the University of Queensland he undertook his internship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. His basic surgical training was undertaken in Brisbane and the UK working in both Worcester and Coventry. Dr Hansen's specialist training was completed in four major centres; The Royal Brisbane Hospital, The Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, The Western Hospital Melbourne and The Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Dr Hansen holds a public appointment as a Visiting Consultant Specialist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane and has offices at The Wesley Hospital, The Sunshine Coast and Ipswich. He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland, where he is involved in the education of medical students and junior doctors.
